Ouachita's Elrod Center receives Celebrate Literacy Award by Arkansas Literacy Association

Ouachita Baptist University’s Elrod Center for Family and Community received the Arkansas Literacy Association’s (ALA) Celebrate Literacy Award this summer for its America Reads/America Counts, Peake Partnership and Homeschool/After-School tutoring programs in Arkadelphia.

Ouachita's Elrod Center for Family and Community celebrates 23 years, announces Feed Arkadelphia

Ouachita Baptist University’s Ben M. Elrod Center for Family and Community hosted its annual Elrod Family Foundation board meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 12, to celebrate 23 years of the foundation and its mission of serving the community.

Ouachita students, faculty and staff came together last Saturday for Tiger Serve Day, a semi-annual event in which the university serves the Arkadelphia community. More than 800 volunteers gave their time and completed over 100 different service projects.

Ouachita's steel drum bands to present concert May 1 alongside Dr. Jeannine Remy

Ouachita Baptist University’s steel drum bands will present their spring concert on Wednesday, May 1, at 8 p.m. in McBeth Recital Hall in Mabee Fine Arts Center. The concert will feature three ensembles: Tiger Steel, Pan Jouvet and Pan Harmony, an elementary student community band.

Ouachita’s Chi Mu women’s social club will host an Autism Awareness Walk on Saturday, April 13, at the Arkadelphia High School football stadium to raise money for the Arkansas Autism Foundation.

Ouachita offers after-school, community steel band program to Peake Elementary School students

Ouachita Baptist University has begun offering an after-school, community steel band program for fourth and fifth graders from Peake Elementary School in Arkadelphia. The steel band, called Pan Harmony, meets every Monday on Ouachita’s campus from 3 to 5 p.m.
